BugHuntress QA Lab strives to be a green IT company. We exert to minimise the environmental impact
of our business and reduce the waste and pollution. Here are some measures we provide:
- We monitor ongoing energy consumption and try to minimize it;
- Unused equipment is turned off;
- We only utilize TFT (flat screen) monitors; CRT monitors are used in some types of
testing and only if necessary;
- Purchasing new equipment, we prefer energy-saving devices;
- Our equipment is regularly maintained, repaired and upgraded;
- Only luminescent and energy saving light bulbs are used in BugHuntress office;
- We use mainly paperless documentation workflow and minimise printing;
- If paper is used, it is done as reusable as possible (both sides);
- In their vast majority our employees use public (in particular, electric) transport and
the tube (the office is in a 2 minutes walk out of a metro station) to get to the office;
- We use flexible start and finish working hours to simplify our employees travelling by
public transport;
- Virtual (from home) working and telecommuting is encouraged if it is possible;
- In the office the vast majority of our employees use ceramic cups and dishes instead
of plastic disposable ones;
and others.
BugHuntress QA Lab tries to provide convenient and comfortable working conditions for
its employees. Speaking about these initiatives, the word GREEN is acceptable and suitable too.
BugHuntress QA Lab office is situated in the greenest part of Kharkiv, close to the Botanical
Garden, the oldest in Ukraine. The internal space of BugHuntress office is 'green' too.
There are lots of green plants and flowers in QArea office. They help to decrease
impact on the environment. They also help to support positive mood and good emotions among
employees. It is especially important for Ukraine where the cold time of year takes about
six months - during this time there are no leaves on the trees and no green grass outside.
We believe that positive emotions and impressions are an integral part of healthy environment
as well. Also, the green office stimulates staff to support environment and foster a
solicitous attitude to the nature.
